Nu-disco act Patawawa lands slot at YNot

Nu-disco trio Patawawa have secured a slot at Derbyshire's prestigious YNot Festival, just a few miles from their Matlock base.

The outfit are no strangers to the circuit, having played at Derby’s 2Q Festival a few weeks ago and have similar events on their books this summer.

They write and produce their own songs out of a tiny studio under a staircase, A new single and EP will be coming out in a few weeks.

Ahead of YNot, Patawawa play a hometown gig at The Fishpond, Matlock Bath, on Friday, May 13, supported by Big Sur.

Band members Rory Lovatt (producer and guitar), Beth Garrett (vocals) and Sam Wilmot (vocals) racked up hits last year including Back to Life (a collaboration with upcoming French producer, Roman Kouder) and pop hit Red and White.

Patawawa had staunch support from BBC Introducing’s Dean Jackson and have been featured on The Guardian’s Band of The Week.
