Derbyshire has plenty of places to visit and interesting things to do for energetic youngsters who want to have fun while they’re letting off steam.

5. Pooles Cavern, Buxton
Step inside huge limestone caverns and look at the stalactites and stalagmites that have been there for millions of years. 6. The Jungle, Chesterfield
This indoor play centre on Foxwood Road is the East Midland's biggest soft play centre for children up to 11 years old and is a good place to take your family on a rainy day. 7. Chatsworth House adventure playground

8. Peak Rail, Darley Dale
This is an ideal day out for young train spotters. This heritage railway offers the opportunity to find out about transport that our ancestors travelled on. All-day unlimited travel vouchers for 3-15 years cost £4.50 and £2.75 for a single journey, for adults the cost is £9.50 for unlimited all-day travel and £5 for a single journey.
