Sarah Raven serves up prescription for good health

Inspirational cook and former doctor Sarah Raven will bring together her talents to offer a magnificent collection of recipes at this year's Buxton Festival.

Sarah will sharing her medical knowledge to explain exactly how and why certain foods help protect your body and give you the best possible chance of a longer, healthier life.

Woven through this are 100 mini ‘superfood’ biographies, where Sarah draws on her expertise to explain the science behind good-for- you ingredients such as kale, broccoli, salmon, red wine, blueberries, apples and seeds.

Sarah’s fascinating talk will take place on Thursday, July 14, at 10.15am in Buxton Opera House. Tickets cost £12.50.

Other offerings in the selection of talks at this year’s Buxton Festival include Janet Ellis talking about her journey from actress and TV presenter to author of The Butcher’s Hook, which takes place at the Pavilion Arts Centre on July 19 at 2pm.

Andrew Lownie will present a portrait of Guy Burgess, the most important and fascinating of The Cambridge Spies, at the Pavilion Arts Centre on July 20 at 10.15am.
