This photograph also comes from Christine Bunting’s collection and was sent in by her friend Susan Mills, who now has possession of the photographs.

It shows the school’s recorder team led by the music teacher Mr Mold.

Christine Bunting is third from the right on the front row.

Susan Mills said: “The school was quite famous for music and that was all down to Mr Mold. He was the driving force behind the music in the school. He was absolutely fanatical.

“The school’s good reputation for music was all down to him.

“I wasn’t into music, i was more into sport, which is why I’m not on the picture.”

Susan added that the picture that Mr Mold is holding is something of a mystery.

She said: “I don’t know what the picture is of, I wondered whether that was something else that they’d won.

“The recorder team used to go to Blackpool and Derby and win concerts and competitions, they were very successful.”
