Thrilling summer for families

Death Toll is the latest spine-chiller from the pen of James Cawood and will be performed at Buxton Opera House from August 11 to 13.

The production is part of a Talking Scarlet residency, which will see the popular drama company take over the theatre for two weeks.

Death Toll tells the story of a famous playwright and his wife as they await the arrival of his new muse - a charming and charismatic young actor determined to secure a role in the playwright’s latest production.

What starts out as a seemingly innocent, though macabre, audition soon leads to an eveningof twists, turns and eventually... murder.

Mixing black comedy and shocks of the highest order, Death Toll reinvents the classic thriller genre and will leave the audience breathless and beguiled right up to the final curtain.

Other productions to take place during the Talking Scarlet residency include The Wind in theWillows for children from August 8 to 10 and a murder mystery evening, Mob Murder, on August 14 at the Pavilion Arts Centre. Horror classic Jekyll and Hyde will be presented at the Opera House from August 15 to 19.
