18–year–old to appear in crown court after Matlock stabbing

An 18–year–old woman is due to appear before a crown court judge in connection to a stabbing in Matlock.

Nicole Ryder, formerly of Matlock but currently residing in Elton Street, Chesterfield, appeared at Chesterfield magistrates’ court on Saturday charged with grievous bodily harm following the incident in Lindon Grove shortly before midnight on Thursday, April 24.

She will appear at Derby Crown Court on August 22. She has not entered a plea.

The 22–year–old victim was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre, in Nottingham, for treatment of serious stab wounds, but is now recovering at home.

A 15–year–old girl was arrested for assisting an offender and a 28–year–old man was arrested for obstructing police in the execution of their duties. Both have been released on bail pending further inquiries.
