Air ambulance team rescues man in Ripley after being trapped following industrial accident

Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA) was called to Brittain Drive, Ripley on Thursday after a man became trapped following an industrial accident.

The air ambulance crew received the call at 4.14pm and travelled to the scene in a rapid response vehicle as the helicopter was being serviced. They arrived on-scene at 4.24pm.

The patient was a man in his 30s who had become trapped following an industrial accident and suffered injuries to his legs.

The air ambulance crew worked with the fire service and the East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) to free the man.

He was given advanced pain relief and taken to Royal Derby Hospital via land ambulance, with the air ambulance crew assisting in the land ambulance.

The patient’s current condition is unknown.
