A LIVELY centenarian celebrated his milestone birthday with a party and a glass of champagne.
Albert Grainger marked his 100th birthday at Lilybank Hamlet, in Matlock, with his family and friends, on Friday March 18.
Mr Grainger, a former carpenter and joiner, moved to the care home in Chesterfield Road last December.
The great-grandfather, who has a son and a daughter, served in the Army and was awarded many medals. He was also a professional dancer and loves music.
Bridie Dowd, activity co-ordinator at the home said: “He gets on well with everybody and is always cracking jokes.
“I don’t think he takes anything seriously and just enjoys his life.”
