ALFRETON: Man accused of racial insults at football match

A MAN has been charged after alleged racist insults were shouted at a player during a match between Alfreton Town and Kidderminster Harriers.

Police said the alleged incident took place at a Kidderminster home game at the Aggborough Stadium on February 23.

A 34-year-old man from South Normanton was arrested and charged on Friday, March 8, with a racially aggravated public order offence following a joint investigation by Derbyshire Constabulary and West Mercia Police.

He will appear before magistrates in Chesterfield on Wednesday, March 27.
