It was an exhausting - but exhilarating - afternoon when St Giles Primary School hosted its sports day.
The blue, yellow, red and green teams at St Giles fought it out long and hard over a series of exciting events - with the yellow team being crowned the overall winner.
Teaching assistant Jackie Smith said: “It was well supported by the parents and friends. The children enjoyed themselves very much.”
There were running races, relays, bat and ball and skipping races - and some more unusual events as well.
There was a slow bike race, during which competitors had to see who could complete a course on a bicycle in the slowest amount of time, while keeping their feet off the ground.
There was also a fancy dress race for the school’s reception class, where children had to put on fancy dress outfits before crossing the finish line.
Jackie Smith said: “The children loved the fancy dress race, it was great fun. And the slow bike race was amazing, the winner was going at a snail’s pace.
“We were very lucky with the weather, we had great weather. It wasn’t too hot and it wasn’t wet.”
