One hundred and thirty guests cheered as the theme music from the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing filled the air and star of the small screen, Anton Du Beke, danced down the spiral staircase at Buxton’s Pavilion Gardens.

Anton had been invited to Buxton by local MP, Andrew Bingham to help raise funds for the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).

Anton mingled with guests over drinks and then after a delightful three course meal he took centre stage to give a captivating insight into his life and the goings on behind the scenes of Strictly.

Thanks to the support of Emma McClarkin MEP, Bradstone UK, The Cocoon Group, Essential Print Services, CW Sellors, Indigo Sunset and Rob Bamford Photography, together with the generosity of guests on the evening, the event raised an incredible £6,290 for the Air Ambulance.

Andy Williamson, CEO of the Air Ambulance Service said “I am delighted that Andrew Bingham has chosen to support the Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance. Our service costs £1.7million per anum to run, hence why events such as this are so integral to our fundraising. A fantastic night was had by all and I know Anton Du Beke thoroughly enjoyed his time in the High Peak”

Andrew Bingham, MP for High Peak said “I was delighted to support and help with the event. The Air Ambulance are vital in the High Peak and to raise over £6,000 was a fantastic result and I know everyone who attended thoroughly enjoyed the evening. I am already discussing with the Air Ambulance another similar event next year.”
