Appeal after bike burglary in Belper

Police are appealing for information on the whereabouts of a distinctive pushbike that was stolen from a house in Belper.

The Raleigh Chopper bike was taken from an address in Yardley Way after burglars broke in between 9am and 9pm on Wednesday (May 6).

The bike is red with yellow lettering on the frame, and is the classic version of the bicycle from 1972. It had deflated tyres.

Officers investigating the theft want to hear from anyone who saw the Chopper being wheeled away in the area, or may know its whereabouts.

Witnesses to the burglary or anyone with information should call Derbyshire police on 101, quoting crime reference 19028/15.
