Arrests for lead thefts

Police have arrested four men on suspicion of stealing lead.

Officers stopped a car in Mill Road in Cromford, just before 2am on Thursday, July 7 and found it to be full of lead.

Four men in the car, aged 30, 24, 22 and 20, were arrested.

Three of the men are from Nottinghamshire while the 20-year-old is from Rotherham.

They remain in custody and are being questioned.

Police are investigating whether the recovered lead was taken from Tor Cafe, in Derby Road, Cromford.

The cafe owner arrived at work on Thursday to find lead flashing had been taken from the roof some time since 2.30pm on Wednesday, July 6.
