Artists win prizes at Hadfield Art Show

The third annual open Hadfield Art Show took place at the weekend at Hadfield Hall, on Station Road, showcasing more than 180 pieces of art, from watercolours to photography, by more than 60 artists.

Janice Morgan with her collage of a fjord was judged to be the overall winner by Glossop sculptor Brian Fell, and the people’s choice prize went to Eira Williams and her painting Padfield from Bottoms, both winning £30.

While Alika Mirzoyan won the aged nine to 12 category and Hattie Melhuish won the under eights category for their pieces on the theme Favourite Things, both winning art materials from sponsor Wain Services, on Arundel Street, Glossop.

Show co-ordinator Annette Hetherington said: “It was absolutely fantastic. We had over 400 visitors and a wonderful range of entries.”
