An auction of promises took place at Matlock Bath to raise funds for war heroes.

The event at Masson Mills Shopping Village on October 21, raised £1,900 for Help for Heroes and Forever Fourth, which is a charity which helps the soldiers and families from the 4th Regiment Royal Artillery.

Captain Paul Jonathan Spencer of the 4th Regiment Royal Artillery, a former pupil of Highfields, Matlock, attended the evening.

Some great lots were donated on the evening including a tour around the Emmerdale studios and for four people personally donated by Chris Chittell (Eric Pollard) who will be showing the winners around on the day.

Other prizes included a bed and breakfast stay at Crab Manor plus a tour of the Top Cliff Army barracks in North Yorkshire, a balloon flight for two people, donated by J C Balls of Ambergate, a Derby County football and two match tickets donated by Derby County Football Club and a stone patio circle donated by Aggregate Industries.

Overall £3,400 has now been raised for both these charities, including £1,500 from a previous fashion show held at Masson Mills in April.
