Two pubs in the Dales were celebrating last week after receiving some very prestigious real ale awards.
To start the night the off Moca, in Dale Road, Matlock scooped the CAMRA – Campaign for Real Ale – Matlock and Dales Spring Pub of the Season.
Sharne Castle, co-owner of Moca, said: ““We’re really pleased and I think it’s quite an achievement to win an award because we have only been open since October.”
Following a brief stop there, the CAMRA crew headed up to Stanton in the Peak to present Stuart and Mandy Redfern, owners of the Flying Childers, with the award for CAMRA’s Derbyshire Pub of the Year.
When presenting the award Carl Brett, CAMRA’s East Midlands Chairman, said: “Thank you for coming here tonight rather than watching the Olympics opening ceremony – this award is truly deserved.”
