Paul Morgans, who is mayor of Bakewell, has taken a photograph every day for 730 days.

He said: “It’s become an important part of my life, getting me to have a look around in a visual way at least once a day. It’s always a good feeling to know that you have created and documented something that didn’t exist before.”

He added: “My technique has evolved now to the point that most people in town know what I am doing and are so used to seeing me always with my camera, this has enabled me to gain access to people and locations that weren’t always possible but are now much easier to obtain.”

Paul said his photography was the modern day equivalent of a diary and a great way of remembering what you were doing and when you were doing it.

He began his challenge after becoming mayor last May and wanted to improve the town’s archive of photos which could be used for publicity, and promotion.

His snaps which include seasons, activities, buildings and well-know characters in the town can be viewed on photo blogging platform www.blipfoto.com
