On results day, youngsters at Lady Manners School also had reason to celebrate.
The Bakewell school boasted had a good crop of high achievers following this year’s GCSE exams.
Overall, 83 per cent of the students in Year 11 were strong performers, attaining at least five grades of C or better.
Furthermore a hefty chunk of the school’s pupils – 73 per cent – achieved five or more GCSE A* to C grades, which included English and mathematics.
Fifty–three students achieved at least seven full GCSE A or A* grades within their results.
Head teacher Duncan Meikle said: “Students and staff have worked hard and deserve these successes. Many congratulations to all concerned.”
