Students at Anthony Gell School are celebrating an excellent set of GCSE results after the grades were revealed today.
Ninety per cent of pupils have obtained five or more A*-C grades at GCSE – the school’s highest level ever.
Headteacher David Baker said that he was ‘really pleased’ with the results.
He said: “Our students have done very well this year and I am extremely proud of what they have achieved.
“We have been working very hard with each student to ensure that they meet their target grades so that they have the widest range of choice for their future.”
Mr Baker added that he was very grateful to all the staff at school who had worked with the students, particularly at a time when so much is changing in how GCSEs are taught and assessed.
