Blood donors are being reminded not to stop donating during the summer sport season.
NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) has been a drop in donations of three per cent during the two weeks of Wimbledon from the previous fortnight, and with the Olympic Games just around the corner, stocks could potentially take another dip.
Anyone in Matlock aged between 17 and 65 and weighing more than seven stone 12lbs has the chance to keep the blood stocks healthy by donating at a session in the Arc leisure centre, off Bakewell Road, on Saturday, August 11.
Appointments are between 10am and 1pm, then 2pm and 3.30pm.
To book an appointment, people can call the Donor Line on 0300 123 23 23 or visit www.blood.co.uk
