Book drop and swap group set up in Chinley

The group has been established by Chinley Book Group and Chinley and Buxworth Community Association with volunteers organising a weekly session where anyone can borrow, donate or even keep books.

The Book Drop and Swap is located in Chinley Community Centre on Lower Lane and opened yesterday (Wednesday).

The selection is currently quite small but new titles are being added all the time. More shelves are needed to accommodate more titles and donations of books, particularly large print or new titles, would also be appreciated.

As well as books, it is also planned to have newspapers and magazines for people to browse through and refreshments will be available, throughout the morning, for a small charge. If the scheme is successful, and enough volunteers can be found, then it is planned to open for the evening each week as well.
