Annual village festivities will have a twist this year with the introduction of a new event.

Connecting Cromford is being launched this year as part of the ever–popular Celebrating Cromford.

It will take place on June 21 at The Bell Inn’s boules pitch, featuring folk music, singer songwriters and rock bands.

Steve Rawlinson, Connecting Cromford organiser, said: “This is quite exciting for people in Cromford as it provides an opportunity to take part and show people what you can do.

“Music has always been a part of Celebrating Cromford but this is the first time that a single event will be delivered by people in the village themselves.”

There are still slots available for bands to play the ‘Band Explosion’ slots which are 15 to 20 minutes long – anyone interested should contact Steve on 0779305165.

Connecting Cromford will raise money for Cromford Institute.
