The deal involves supplying Brooklyn’s Shackmeister Ale for New York restaurant group Shake Shack Restaurants’ UK outlet in London’s Covent Garden and is a second link between Brooklyn and the region.

Thornbridge, based in Buxton Road, Bakewell, has long standing links with Brooklyn Brewery, having taken the US brewer as a role model for quality, consistency and exciting beers when it was set up in 2005.

Since then, the Peak District brewery has got to know Brooklyn’s brewmaster, Garrett Oliver, and his colleagues well.

The two breweries have since collaborated on brews.

Mr Oliver had no hesitation in recommending Thornbridge Brewery to brew Shackmeister.

“I knew they could and would make a great beer for Shake Shack,” he said.
