These young ladies are all standing for attention during an inspection by a very important person.

The girls are from the St John Ambulance and they are pictured here with Superintendent D Oakden.

The picture was taken in September 1955.

The girl have turned up sleeves and berets.

It was an important day for the youngsters as they were being inspected by Countess Mountbatten.
