Two companies have supported the Royal British Legion hall in Brassington in a bid to help repair the roof.

Tarmac’s Tunstead site and Ballidon Quarry both donated £250 to cover the cost of some of the work.

The Brassington British Legion provides regional support to the Royal British Legion, which is the UK’s leading Armed Forces charity. It holds many fundraising events throughout the year, including fairs and bingo nights for members of the local community.

Josie Rippon, honourary secretary for the Ladies Fundraising Committee at Brassington British Legion, said: “We’d like to thank Tarmac’s Tunstead site and Ballidon Quarry for their generous donations towards our roof replacement. Our roof was in desperate need of renovation and it’s great to have the support of local companies to help us do this.”

Viv Russell, lime & powders director at Tarmac Tunstead, said: “When we heard that the Royal British Legion was looking for help, we were only too happy to contribute towards the cost of replacing their roof. The Legion plays an important part in community life for many people and we’re pleased to be able to support its good work.”
