A Dales business has been shortlisted from thousands of bed and breakfasts as one of the country’s friendliest places to stay.

The Pines, in Eversleigh Rise, Darley Bridge, was among just 25 finalists nominated by the AA’s hotel inspectors in its Friendliest Bed and Breakfast Awards 2014.

The winning business will be awarded the coveted title at the AA’s Bed and Breakfast Awards lunch to be held on May 13 at the St Ermin’s Hotel, in London.

The three guest rooms at The Pines draw on the local heritage by being named after famous Derbyshire women – Florence Nightingale, Vivienne Westwood and Bess of Hardwick.

Cheryl Coyne has run The Pines for seven years having previously run another bed and breakfast for 19 years.

She said: “I feel honoured and extremely pleased to be nominated as a finalist in the AA Friendliest B&B Award.

“It’s great to get positive feedback from guests either directly or via websites, but this nomination makes it all worthwhile.”
