An enterprising couple have transformed an old chapel into bed and breakfast accomodation.
Sue and John Barnacle will open the Gables B & B, in Riber Road, Starkholmes, this Saturday, in time for the first 2012 Matlock Bath firework display.
The historic building benefits from a birds eye view of the famous attraction, and the couple believe this will appeal greatly to visitors.
Sue and John bought the property in March this year, and have refurbished it to have three guest rooms.
The Gables is believed to be a former Methodist Chapel, and the pair have made some interesting discoveries since starting work, including a concealed room beneath the ground.
“I’d love to know more about the building and maybe even find some old pictures of it,” Sue said.
