A BREWERY in Bakewell was the toast of an award ceremony after picking up a new gong.
Thornbridge, of Buxton Road, took the honours in the Best Pub Operating Microbrewery category at the recent Publican Awards in London. The new category reflects the growing number of smaller breweries that now operate pubs.
The decision was made by mystery judges who visited the nominated companies.
Simon Webster, Thornbridge’s chief operating officer said: “The award reflects great team work across the brewery and our pubs.”
Thanking the firm’s customers, he said that with demand for beer increasing, the brewery had plans to expand production by 40 per cent next month.
