‘GET creative’ that’s the message from a Matlock business which has a launched a new range of craft kits and gifts.

After ten years establishing a successful leather craft business, The Identity Store, in Holt Lane, is branching out with an exciting new collection of crafts and gifts using natural, sustainable leather.

Sarah Benson, of the company, said: “There seems to be a renewed interest in our society in making unique and original items for gifts and home and in appreciating craftsmanship.”

The collection called ‘Make’ also includes a range of kits to create cute leather birdhouses, leather beer mats and birthday cards designed by Kate Willison, who also works at the store and who is studying for a degree in creative arts.

The kits offer all materials and instructions but allow for personal interpretations.

Sarah added: “We have always supplied to specialist leather craft workers and we wanted to make a wider offering available to help anybody interested in craft to use leather in new and exciting ways.”

Inspired by the beautiful landscape of the Peaks, ‘Make’ also offers ‘inspiration packs’ for applique and needlework projects.

These include a collection of leathers in differing colours and textures, some speciality gold or silver textured leather and vintage beads.

n The Mercury has joined forces with The Identity Store and has five of the Inspiration Packs, worth £12.50, to give away to five lucky readers.
