A MATLOCK firm has given the town’s popular football club a vital cash boost – by pledging a support package.
Derwent Financial Service, has strengthened it commitment to Matlock Town Football Club by agreeing to pass a percentage of the company’s earnings to the club.
The independent financial advisers, based at Rock House, in Wellington Street, is already a sponsor of the Gladiators but has agreed to make regular financial contributions to help the club develop.
Matlock Town chairman Tom Wright, said: “This is really good news for the club.
“It will help with general running costs as we do need to keep generating money and sponsorship like this do get local firms involved.
“Derwent Financial Services has been involved with Matlock Town for a number of years and wanted to put something back in to the club.”
Mr Wright said the club was hoping other businesses would also sign up to support the club.
Director of Derwent Financial Services Andrew Hodkin, said: “We are already involved with the club through sponsorship and proposed this scheme to assist further.
“The scheme not only enable Derwent Financial Services to directly help Matlock Town but also anyone with allegiance to the club to play a positive part in fund-raising.”
The firm has agreed to pass on to the club a percentage of any lump sum investment or up to two months contributions of any regular premium contracts made with Derwent Financial Services to anyone connected with the club, whether they are a player, official or supporter. The company offers a range of services about investments and savings, life assurance and mortgage protection, pension and retirement planning and income protection.
