Grants for businesses

The Dales has been allocated £160,000 of funding to support rural businesses.

The initiative – which is funded through the Rural Development Programme for England – aims to provide grants to small businesses, the farming community and social enterprises.

Funding is available to newly started businesses, farmers who are looking to diversify and existing businesses with less than 10 employees where there is potential to create new jobs.

Paper Escape from Chinley received a £7,717 grant to assist in their expansion plans.

Company spokesman, Chris Andrew, said: “Without the funding we would not have been able to create the four new posts which have been filled by young people.”
