A top class retirement home is celebrating after winning silver in a prestigious national award ceremony.
St Elphin’s Park, run by Audley, took the prize in the Best Retirement Development at the What House? Awards.
The retirement village, in Dale Road South, Darley Dale, has recently been reopened following extensive restoration.
Nick Sanderson, CEO of Audley Retirement, commented: “We are extremely proud of the restoration of St Elphin’s Park.
“The What House? Award recognises the achievement of all involved in the project and we are very proud to be acknowledged by the industry as leading the way when it comes to the design, building and running of retirement villages.
“The village itself offers residents and members an exclusive country club, complete with terrace, restaurant and bistro facilities, and a swimming pool.
“This is another step in our vision to restore and develop beautiful retirement villages for independent later life living.”
St Elphin’s House dates back to 1820 and offers eight apartments, each individually designed to retain character.
The 44–acre park also features the Audley Club which includes a luxury health club, fitness pool, bar and bistro, as well as the Orangery restaurant.
Judges who awarded Audley the prize commented: “The facilities, location, and quality of the properties make this an outstanding entry and well deserving of a Silver award.”
