A new partnership between Vision Buxton and the Peak District’s official tourism board is to market the town to visitors and tourists.
Vision Buxton has paid for membership of the Visit Peak District & Derbyshire Town Membership scheme to help further promote the spa town’s retailers, cafés, restaurants and pubs.
The scheme will enable Buxton retailers or eating establishments to be promoted on the official tourist board’s popular website www.visit peakdistrict.com and be listed on the Peak Explorer App, with the potential for further advertising opportunities in the future.
David James, Chief Executive of Visit Peak District & Derbyshire, said: “Buxton, like all the Peak District’s market towns, is a key element in our marketing strategy when it comes to attracting staying visitors throughout the year.
“We’re always keen to welcome new additions to our Town Membership scheme. Working together can only strengthen the tourist board’s efforts to promote the Peak District as a world-class destination to a regional, national and international audience.”
Sally Potter Co-Chairman of the Vision Buxton Marketing Group, added: “This is a great opportunity to promote Buxton businesses to visitors and tourists.
“Vision Buxton and Visit Peak District & Derbyshire will continue to work together on projects to raise the profile of the town.”
Vision Buxton and Visit Peak District & Derbyshire have been working closely together during the past year on projects including a new Buxton video, which has been promoted on key local websites and through social media.
The video, which aims to attract visitors, tourists, investors and students to the town, was viewed over 4,500 times in the first month alone.
