As well as children’s games and a circus workshop, there will be stalls from Citizen’s Advice Bureau, Stop Loan Sharks, Derbyshire Adult Education and a health trainer.

Paul Bohan, foodbank coordinator, said: “We want to give parents the chance to get advice and information about household finances, debt, family, employment and health issues. We’re putting on some family activities so parents get this chance whilst their children are entertained.”

Families can learn about household financial management, cooking on a budget and how to deal with addictions, weight problems and mental health issues.

The foodbank will also be collecting food to go into emergency parcels.

Lizzie Walton, Buxton coordinator, said: “The foodbank is really short of some things at the moment, in particular tinned fruit and puddings, pasta sauce, UHT milk, biscuits, tinned meat and breakfast cereals. I hope people will give generously so we can ensure people in crisis situations don’t go hungry.”
