Marilyn Dickinson, of Corbar Road, admitted fraud by false representation at High Peak Magistrates Court last Wednesday.

The 62-year-old, director of Pegasus Print Solutions, in New Mills, declared on a form on January 2 that her sister Wendy Carr did not work at the company. Ms Carr did not have a contract or a letter of employment and she was sometimes paid out of Dickinson’s personal finances. The court heard the defendant “genuinely believed she wasn’t doing anything wrong”.

Chairman of the bench Robert Whatmough ordered her to pay a fine of £235, £100 court costs and a £24 victim surcharge.
