Mr Moorhouse, 27, of King George Street, Wirksworth had been at Owlerton Stadium in Sheffield with his girlfriend on Saturday evening and was travelling home when his yellow Mini Cooper collided with a blue Vauxhall Corsa between Unstone and Whittington Moor at around 9.20pm.

DC Gary Wilson of Derbyshire Police said Mr Moorhouse’s car then left the southbound carriageway on the near side, crossing a lay-by and colliding with a wooden fence numerous times.

He was formally identified by his father on Sunday at Chesterfield mortuary.

Police investigations are still on going and DC Wilson reiterated the police’s appeal for any information members of the public might have regarding the circumstances of the incident.

Assistant Coroner, James Newman, set a review date of Friday April 22, by which time it is hoped the post-mortem report and police investigations will have been completed.
