Can you help with research?

In conjunction with the Derbyshire Library Service, I am researching the story of Matlock, Matlock Bath and district, during the period of the Second World War, with the aim of publishing a book on the subject later this year.

I would be most grateful if any reader, who has school class photographs of the Matlock and Matlock Bath schools for the period of 1935 to 1947, or photographs of carnivals and other social events and activities taking place during this period, would allow me to copy them and use them in the book.

It would also be of great help if anyone connected to Harry Gould, Roland Vallance and Samuel Gaunt, whose names are included on the Matlock War Memorial, could get in touch with me.

I can be contacted at ‘Wensleydale, 4 Oker Road, South Darley, Matlock DE4 2JQ, or by phone on (01629) 732622, mobile: 07790575077.

Thank you for any help that you can provide
