Captain Jack Sparrow lookalike to tie the knot at Matlock pirate festival

Pirate enthusiasts Sarah Page and Wayne Truman are all set to anchor down and tie the knot at Matlock Bath's Pirate Mutiny Festival among hundreds of fellow shipmates.

Matlock Bath Pirate Mutiny is a small but growing festival that was started by the couple three years ago.

Originally a small gathering of pirate fanatics who travel the county attending such events, it has now become the only inland pirate festival in the UK, and has been attracting a growing fanbase.

At the 2017 Pirate Mutiny, Wayne, who often portrays the character of Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of The Caribbean, got down on one knee in front of a crowd of spectators and proposed to Sarah.

As people watched the emotional moment crowds cheered as Sarah said ‘yes’.

Victoria Arran, events and marketing manager at The Fishpond Freehouse, was talking to them about how they dreamt of a pirate wedding, when she suggested hosting it as part of this year’s event.

And so on Saturday, August 4 at 1pm Sarah and Wayne will marry in a public blessing taking place in the Derwent Gardens, Matlock Bath.
