Care home set to open
Erewash Mayor Councillor Val Clare and MP Jessica Lee will be amongst the special guests when Canal Vue, run by Eastgate Care, formally launches.
The home, which is Eastgate’s fifth in the East Midlands, overlooks the scenic Erewash Canal and provides bright and spacious accommodation in an idyllic setting.

The home offers long or short term care, and all bedrooms have en-suite facilities.
The rooms are also tastefully decorated with a vibrant colour scheme which has been specially created to help soothe and comfort dementia patients.
In addition to the state of the art design, Canal Vue will offer nursing, convalescence, and respite, with local community services including a GP, chiropodist, optician, dentist, hairdresser and minister.

Eastgate Care is currently celebrating 24 years in the business with other care homes including Alexandra House Care Home, Eastwood.
As well as the official opening on 28 February, there will be two public open days on Saturday 1 March and Sunday 2 March, from 12pm to 4pm.
Appointments can be booked by contacting Marie Martin on 0115 979 1234.
Plans for the home were originally submitted in January 2012, and the derelict Old Bridge Inn was demolished soon after approval.
Other plans for the site had included residential flats.
