Bakewell firefighters were called out to a smoke-logged home where one casualty needed medical treatment.

The smoke triggered an alarm at the home on Granby Croft, Bakewell, about 4.20am, today, Friday, June 6.

A Derbyshire fire service spokesman said: “Firefighters confirmed that there was one domestic property smoke-logged. An ambulance was needed for one occupant suffering with smoke inhalation.

“There had been a fire at the property but it was out on arrival so firefighters only needed to ventilate the property.”

Firefighters made the scene safe within an hour and left the casualty in the care of the ambulance paramedics.
