GOLDEN girl Winnifred Rudkin celebrated her 100th birthday with staff and relatives last week.
Bakewell Cottage nursing home resident Winnifred saw in her centenary on Wednesday, June 15.
Winnifred was born in Bradford in 1911 and married Stanley Rudkin in 1932.
Stanley’s war work saw them move all over the country, but they settled in Bakewell, making their home at Broadstones, in Station Road.
Relative Jill Nicol said: “They had no children but were devoted to each other and were a very self-contained couple. “They were very fond of the countryside and their garden.”
The couple moved into care in 2000 and Stanley died on New Year’s Eve 2001.
