Chestefield allotment association picks up a grant towards new shed
Allotment holders have been given a grant to replace their ageing wooden storage shed.
Chesterfield’s Hunloke Avenue Allotment Association’s secretary John Rowland and allotment holder Peter Cox are pictured receiving a cheque from Derbyshire County Councillor Ron Mihaly.
Coun Mihaly secured the funding via the council’s Members’ Community Leadership Scheme. He said: ““Community groups do rely on small grants to survive and this one will help to sustain the allotment for years to come and indirectly its members health and wellbeing. The latter item is a key priority for DCC therefore I am very pleased to support this group.”
