A youngster has agreed to pay for damage he caused to a church window.
The 14-year-old boy admitted accidentally smashing a window at Hathersage Methodist Church, in Main Road, Hathersage on June 21, by kicking his football at it.
The church committee agreed the youngster should be dealt with by way of Restorative Justice and he will now pay for the damage to be repaired.
PCSO Anthony Boswell said: “The boy was sorry for his actions and because the incident has been dealt with via Restorative Justice, he will not receive a criminal record.”
Restorative Justice was introduced in Derbyshire in April 2009 and sees crimes dealt with in accordance with the victims’ wishes.
Cases are dealt with without going through the court process.
