Child sex photo man denies Dales school ban breach

Chesterfield magistrates’ court heard on Monday how 65-year-old Martin Firth allegedly broke the order by speaking to youngsters at a cake competition organised by Winster Primary School.

Becky Mahon, prosecuting, told the court that Firth was convicted of possessing and making indecent images of children in 2008.

She said he was jailed and slapped with a sexual offences prevention order which included a ban on him communicating with children.

Mrs Mahon told the court Firth was allegedly seen chatting to youngsters at last July’s contest.

John Bunting, defending, said Firth was being supervised by his partner at the event.

He added Firth was not in breach of the order. Firth, of Melbourne Road, Bristol, will be tried at the end of August.
