Chimney fire

Fire crews from Crich and Belper were called to tackle an out of control blaze in a chimney.

The firefighters attended a farm in Alderwasley at 22.15pm on Monday where a chimney was believed to be collapsing as the result of a fire. They used a nine metre ladder and thermal imaging camera to tackle the blaze and remove debris. They then used chimney gear to damp down the area.

The fire was out by 11.24pm and the crews stayed behind to fit two smoke alarms.
