Christians have been out and about in Wirksworth in aid of some of the poorest people in the world.
The Wirksworth and District Christian Aid Group were on hand at the Wirksworth farmers’ market to promote Christian Aid Week, which runs from May 13 to 20.
Money raised from the week will go towards helping people in third world countries.
Irene Ratcliffe, a Wirksworth town councillor a member of the group, said: “Every year during Christian Aid Week the group collects thousands of pounds.
“This year the theme is ‘tools for change’, where we enable people to become self sufficient by providing them with tools.
“We do need to be mindful of other people’s situations.”
