Ashover’s ancient parish church clock is celebrating its 130th birthday in shining style after being given a much-needed facelift.
The old dial, which was originally installed in 1881, has been cleaned, repainted over the last few weeks.
The numerals on the clock have received extra-special attention and have been re-gilded with gold leaf.
It took three days of painstaking attention to detail from a master craftsman to complete the work.
Smith of Derby clockmaker Tony Davies took part in the restoration exercise.
And it was especially appropriate, as the clock at All Saints was originally installed by Smith of Derby in 1881.
When it was first installed, the clock had to be wound by hand. It was converted to run on electricity in 1969.
