COLUMN: New school headteacher is looking to the future

My name is Iain Wilson, the new head teacher at Rowsley Cof E Primary School, and I thought it would be nice to introduce myself.

I believe in setting high standards for everyone, especially myself, so that everyone associated with the school can achieve their full potential. I enjoy seeing the growth of personality and ability as the children progress through school from their first day to their last.

The children in reception have settled into school life incredibly well which is thanks in part to the strong links with the local Rowsley pre-school but also due to the emphasis and importance the school places on transition.

I whole-heartedly believe in the school’s new motto ‘Achieving Excellence Together’ as a vision of where the school is heading and I am committed to ensuring the family atmosphere at Rowsley School continues.

I believe that education is about developing the whole child; academic, artistic, physical, emotional and social skills, as well as a sense of humour.

All children are special and I want them to be individuals, finding and celebrating the talents in everyone in the school.
