People with specialist experience in landscape or cultural heritage are being sought to become new Members of the Peak District National Park Authority.
The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs is inviting applications from suitably experienced people to be appointed to the Authority’s governing body by the Secretary of State. The deadline is November 22.
Authority Members are made up of eight Secretary of State appointees, 16 councillors from the county, city and district councils in the national park and six parish councillors representing the 120 parishes in the national park.
Two new Secretary of State appointees will be needed to take the places of Christopher Pennell and Pauline Beswick when they reach the end of their terms on March 31 2014.
Mr Pennell is currently the Member Representative for Landscapes and chair of the Audit, Resources and Performance Committee, while Ms Beswick is the Member Representative for Cultural Heritage.
TThe deadline for applications is November 22 and interviews will take place in Bakewell on February 6 2014. The initial appointment will start on April 1 2014 for up to four years, though this may be extended.
