A splash of colour may be seen in Darley Dale as a community group has been awarded council funding.
Darley Dale in Bloom has been presented with £300 by Derbyshire county councillor Mike Longden as part of his community fund.
The money will be used by Darley Dale Town Council to pay for plants and compost for various Darley Dale in Bloom projects, including hanging baskets in the Milenium Gardens.
Trish Ingham, of the town council, said: “The benefits of Darley Dale in Bloom for the community are immense.
“It will help to bring the community together as lots of different organisations and individuals work together towards a common goal.
“It will also give the community a sense of pride in their town as we strive towards making Darley Dale a more welcoming and attractive place to be.
“Outdoor, gardening and sustainable projects gives people a sense of wellbeing and self esteem.”
